Practice Polices & Service Information

This section lists some of the most important Practice Policies and supporting service information. It is not practical to list all of the Practice policies on this website but please speak to our Practice Manager if you require details of our other policies.


Carers

It is helpful to know if you have a Carer (someone who takes on an unpaid caring role) or if you are a Carer for someone else. We have an established Carer's policy and a Carer's information pack available from Reception. Addition information for Carers can be found on dedicated Carers page.

Chaperones

Our practice is committed to putting patient’s at ease whenever possible and if you wish a chaperone to be present during your examination please do not hesitate to ask the doctor / nurse.

All chaperones are members of staff who are trained to carry out this role. They are trained in patient confidentiality.

It may not be possible for such a chaperone to be provided immediately and you might have to return for the examination to be carried out at a mutually convenient time.

Trust is important in the relationship between doctor / nurse and patient, we would at all times wish you to feel able to ask for a chaperone should you require it.

Complaints

We always try to provide the best service possible but if you wish to make a complaint please send details in writing addressed to The Practice Manager to our address or via email.

Violent or Abusive Individuals

The Practice operates a “Zero Tolerance” policy to violent incidents, including immediate removal from the Practice list.

Staff are instructed to contact the Police following any incident involving threatening or physical abuse.

Individuals who are rude, abusive, or who exhibit threatening behaviour or actual violence, will be removed from the list, in line with our “Zero Tolerance” policy.
